Israel Adesanya shows off a stylish dog chain for a face-off against Alex Pereira.

New Zealand professional mixed martial artist of Nigerian descent Israel Mobolaji Adesanya is set for a return to the octagon.

Adesanya has a rematch against Brazilian professional mixed martial artist Alexsandro Pereira as the headline event of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) 287 event in Miami.

Pereira recorded a knockout win in round five of the UFC 281 main event that took place in  November 2022 at Madison Square Garden in New York.

Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira face off

That was the third time Pereira got the better of Adesanya in combat sports as he earlier defeated him twice in kickboxing events back in 2015 and 2016.

Adesanya and Pereira were both present for the UFC 287 main event press conference.

Ahead of their fourth meeting as professionals, Adesanya and Pereira were both present for the UFC 287 main event press conference.

The style bender has been hyped all week following his travel from New Zealand to Miami in the United States of America (USA).

The Style bender chose to wear a dog collar because he wanted to be let off his leash and was acting like a dog.

With fans barking, he said, “I’m a dog. It’s a dog collar and I’m about to be unleashed,”

Afterward, Adesanya added to it by claiming that he, too, was unconcerned with the belt. Instead, he claims that he is just a hound on the hunt for Pereira's head and the kill.

“F**k the belt. I’m going to rip his head off. I’m a dog on a leash, and I’m about to be let loose,”

It's interesting to note that the dog collar for "The Last Stylebender" was inspired by the Unleashed film starring the late Chinese actor Jet Li (2005) as he confirmed on his official Twitter account.

Pereira on Adesanya

The dog collar show-off by Adesanya comes after Pereira stated that he should join the WWE after another defeat as the UFC will have no more use for him.

Pereira believes this will be the last time they face off and Adesanya is not a rival.

The champion said, “The WWE is a place for Adesanya. Because after this fight, there’s a place for him to go.”

Adesanya takes on Pereira in the main event of UFC 287 scheduled to take place at the Miami-Dade Arena in Miami, Florida on Sunday, April 9, 2023.
