A top club official has stressed that they will keep everything under wraps until they are done with negotiations and signings.

Kakamega Homeboyz chair Cleophas Shimanyula has explained why their transfer targets will remain a top secret.

Just like other Football Kenya Federation Premier League teams, Homeboyz are expected to sign new players, and Shimanyula has explained why they will carry out their business stealthily.

When asked if Homeboyz are chasing for the services of Sofapaka goalkeeper Kevin Omondi and Nzoia Sugar's Salim Hamisi, Shimanyula laughed off the social media reports by saying: "We don't want to reveal our targets now as our rivals could interfere with our transfer plans; we always like to keep it secret until you see them in a Homeboyz's jersey."

However, the chair revealed the players they have already brought on board.

"We have only signed one player, Alex Imbusia, from Sofapaka on a three-year deal; the rest we will confirm when the deals are through," said Shimanyula.

"We have also signed David Kasirye, who previously was with Sofapaka and has played for a host of clubs in Uganda and Burundi. Kasirye has signed a two-year contract. Those are the players we have signed, and the rest we will give their names out by Tuesday when we conclude negotiations and they put pen to paper."

Kakamega Homeboyz should have a wider squad given the additional duties they will have in the 2023/24 season. They will be participants in the CAF Confederation Cup, and their eyes will also be fixed on the Premier League and defending the FKF Cup.
