Harry Maguire is set to move to West London after Manchester United accepted West Ham’s bid for the defender according to reports.

After Maguire was relieved of his duties as Manchester United captain, the Hammers have been pursuing the England defender all summer.

Maguire has been linked with Chelsea and Tottenham, but West Ham has always been the favourite to sign the centre-half.

A deal has been reportedly agreed with Manchester United after he was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Erik Ten Hag.

Maguire set for Man United exit

West Ham and Man United have a deal in principle worth somewhere around £30 million, according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports reported on Twitter saying, “West Ham have reached an agreement in principle with Manchester United to sign Harry Maguire in a deal worth in the region of £30m.”

Despite Maguire's stated salaries of almost £190,000 per week, it has also been reported that personal terms won't be a problem.

West Ham made a significant move in the transfer market on Monday night when they jointly offered £60 million for Scott McTominay and Maguire.

McTominay's £30 million offer was flatly refused by United, who demanded £45 million for the Scottish midfielder.

However, they were evaluating the £30 million offer for Maguire, which is close to their £35 million estimate.

Maguire, whom Moyes sees as the club's future captain, has been persuaded to join West Ham by the manager, who is still seeking to make his first signing of the summer.

The defender, who has slid down the pecking order at Old Trafford, is anxious for regular first-team action before next summer's tournament with England.
