Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta analyses his team's victory against Burnley and praises their mentality.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was full of praise for his team’s performance against Vincent Kompany’s Burnley.

The Gunners trumped the newly promoted 3-1 at the Emirates Stadium to move to second on the Premier League table, displacing North London rivals Tottenham.

Leandro Trossard opened the scoring for the hosts just before half-time, but Josh Brownhill equalised for the Clarets ten minutes into the second-half.

William Saliba equalised from a corner kick almost immediately, and Oleksandr Zinchenko confirmed the result with a stunning strike in the 74th minute.

What Arteta said

The Spaniard raved about his side’s dominant approach and how they managed to create chances despite Burnley’s low block, a recurring theme in Arsenal’s season.

He also highlighted Arsenal’s efficiency from set plays and how it is an important tool against teams that are set up to defend, as many sides do against his team.

"Very happy with the performance. The way the team dominated the game. We fully deserved to win the game,” he said, per the BBC.

"Especially against organised teams, we're provoking; they were defending really deep. We generated a lot today and looked a threat every time.

"Momentum was perfect. The team reacted straight away, and the timing was perfect. We are the team who generate the most [set-piece goals]. If a team want to defend 20 metres, that has to be an asset.”

Meanwhile, Nigerian international John Ogu has issued a compelling appeal to Premier League side Arsenal to turn their attention to Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface.
