Eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi has wished his Argentina teammate Di Maria all the best in a letter.

According to Fabrizio on X, Messi said, “I'm sorry I couldn't be here on this very special night for you, you know I’m trying to get better so I can come back. 

“I wanted to be there, even with this video, and I hope you enjoy this night with your family, your loved ones and all the people of Argentina.
