The Super Eagles B coach believes that his friend from Ikenne is already with the title after 22 matches played.

The coach of Rangers International F.C., Fidelis Ilechukwu, has seemingly conceded defeat in the race for the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) title, acknowledging the strength of his competitors.

Ilechukwu commented on the title race after a much-needed 2-0 victory against Ikorodu City, which ended a two-match losing streak on Monday.

Despite the win that lifted Rangers into the top four, they remain 11 points adrift of league leaders Remo Stars.

Ilechukwu, who led the Rangers to their eighth NPFL title last season, expressed his concerns about the title race after the match in a video shared by 54footballx on social media.

“It looks like the league title is somehow difficult... my friend (Daniel Ogunmodede) is serious about it,” indicating that he believes the championship is now firmly in the hands of other teams.

He elaborated on the club’s current situation, noting that “Rangers are completely struggling” and emphasised his desire to alleviate pressure on his players and fans.

“I don’t want the boys to be under pressure,” he said, reflecting a pragmatic approach as he prepares for upcoming matches against Bayelsa United and a crucial clash with his friend, Ogunmodede’s Remo Stars.

With Ilechukwu in his second season at the helm, he remains optimistic about achieving positive results but recognises that the title race is increasingly challenging.
