It’s always a nightmare for any club or nation on the continent that has to make a trip to the Maghreb region regardless of the competition.

Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria and Morocco are home to some of the fiercest ultras, a section of fans who support their respective nations or clubs at whatever cost.

The green eagles were sanctioned and fined twice by CAF last season when they faced Egyptian giants Al Ahly.

The sanctions include playing behind closed doors along with fines of up to $24,000 (about UGX88m) for the use of smoke, lasers and throwing bottles and another $20,000 (about UGX74m) for failing to provide necessary security measures.

This provides for a perfect opportunity for the venoms to take advantage and try to register a win on their first outing on the continent.

Raja Casablanca aside, the Venoms are placed in group C alongside Guinea’s Horoya FC and Tanzania’s Simba.

Next up for the Venoms is a home game against Horoya FC set to take place on 18th February at the St. Marys stadium Kitende.
