Speaking to Turkish journalist Enes Cevahirci in an interview shared on X, Osimhen recounted his version of events and accused his detractors of manipulating the situation.
The forward explained that he had been out with friends when photos of him were taken inappropriately without his consent.
"I didn’t hit the journalists; they are lying," Osimhen said. "Why are you flashing your face? You have to ask permission for an interview. I told them they had to delete my photos. If I wanted to hit them, I would have."
The Nigerian forward went ahead to accuse the accuser of lying to tarnish his image and promised that the consequences will be facing the wrath of the law if the journalist maintains the lie.
Amid the controversy, Osimhen had earlier made a cryptic social media post, sharing a video on his Instagram story featuring Ghanaian comedian Akrobeto Akwasi Boadi laughing sarcastically. The video included no caption, leaving fans speculating about its intended meaning.
The incident has sparked widespread attention, but Osimhen maintains his innocence, asserting that the claims are baseless and designed to tarnish his reputation.
