The pastor was speaking against men putting more energy into football than their own spouses when he rubbished the Manchester United goalkeeper.

A Ugandan pastor has described under-fire Manchester United and Cameroon goalkeeper as having “no quality” during one of her sermons.

Onana, 27, has endured a difficult campaign since moving to Old Trafford in the summer and some have questioned his role at the club following a series of unconvincing performances for the club.

His struggles have followed him onto the international stage after the 27-year-old was dropped and replaced by his cousin, Fabrice Ondoa, for Tuesday's huge match with Gambia at the ongoing 2023 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Cameroon won 3-2 to advance to the knockout rounds where they will be playing Nigeria on Saturday evening and it remains interesting to see whether he will start against the 2013 champions.

Now, a clergywoman has ripped into Onana in one of her sermons where she was speaking against men “putting too much energy” on their football instead of focusing on their wives.

“Men enjoy life with football,” the pastor said in a clip that has recently been making waves on social media, “They spend all their time and energy to go and cheer football people,” she added.

“They take time and understand Onana, this Onana of Man U, Onana, Onana, Onana, all their energy is on Onana, and you have a woman at home here, what is wrong with you?”

“This Onana who has no quality, you want to identify with him!?”

Onana has made 21 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career. The goalkeeper has kept six clean sheets in those games.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper has already been heavily criticised for his decision to join up late with Cameroon’s squad for their AFCON campaign, as well as his less-than-convincing display against Senegal.
