Despite a quiet return to the league post-injury, the Tusker forward's call-up to the Taifa Stars highlights his resilience and scoring prowess.

Despite facing a series of challenges including a significant injury that sidelined him for months Tusker FC forward Ibrahim Joshua has once again made headlines with his unexpected return to the Tanzania national team.

The inclusion of the 29-year-old in the Taifa Stars squad comes as a surprise to many, considering his relatively quiet performance in the Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) after his injury.

After rejoining Tusker FC in action inSeptember, he has gradually found his footing.

Joshua's call-up marks the fourth time he will don the national colors while playing for Tusker, a nod to his consistent performance and potential as a valuable team player. 

"Congratulations to our striker Ibrahim Joshua who has been called up to the Taifa Stars squad ahead of this month's World Cup qualifiers," announced the club, signaling their pride and support for his achievement.

The 2021/2022 season saw Ibrahim emerge as the top scorer for Tusker in his debut season in Kenya. 

With a tally of 11 goals and four assists in 29 matches, he not only showcased his scoring talents but also solidified his position as a crucial player for the club

The announcement of the full Taifa Stars squad revealed a mix of seasoned and emerging talents. 

Among the goalkeepers, notable names include Beno Kakolanya of Singida FG and Metacha Mnata from Yanga. 

The defense lineup is fortified with players like Dickson Job and Bakari Mwamnyeto, while the midfield sees the inclusion of Ibrahim alongside other prominent players such as Mzamiru Yassin from Simba and Sospeter Bajana of Azam.

Up front, the strike force is led by the internationally recognized Mbwana Samatta from PAOK FC, with Ibrahim Joshua adding to the depth of attacking options.
