Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has agreed a two-year contract extension

Pep Guardiola has finally agreed to put pen to a paper on a new deal with Man City. The deal will be structured as an initial one-year deal, with both club and manager holding an option for a further year.

This will come as excellent news for Manchester City fans considering the fact that His existing deal was set to expire at the end of the current campaign.

Guardiola’s Success

Guardiola, 51, joined Manchester City in 2016 after successful spells in charge of his home town club, Barcelona and another successful three year spell at Bayern Munich.

Since he arrived in Manchester, He has won four premier league titles as well as one FA Cup and the League cup four times.

The Champions league has eluded City so far but they did reach the 2020-21 final which they lost 1-0 to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

City have won four of the last five premier league titles and have made a strong start to the current campaign. They sit second in the Premier League table, five points behind league leaders Arsenal.

They have qualified for the knockout stage of the Champions League and are through to the fourth round of the EFL Cup after beating Chelsea.

Guardiola has shown commitment to continued success by agreeing to a new deal and this will put the fans at rest after a period of uncertainty.
