Arsenal and Liverpool are reportedly set to battle it out for one of Bayer Leverkusen's best players this summer.

Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with a move for Bayer Leverkusen defender Alex Grimaldo.

Grimaldo joined Leverkusen for free at the beginning of the season and has since been outstanding.

The Spanish left-back boasts 11 goals and 15 assists across all competitions, showcasing a remarkable transformation in the Bundesliga.

According to TeamTalk, his performances have caught the attention of both Arsenal and Liverpool, with both sides reportedly gearing up to make a bid.

Arsenal have just Oleksandr Zinchenko as a reliable left-back option and are expected to offload Nuno Tavares and Kieran Tierney in the summer.

For Liverpool, Kostas Tsimikas is not good enough to start for a club hoping to win the league title and the Champions League.

Grimaldo would be an upgrade and could compete with Andrew Robertson for a starting spot.
