Ronaldo’s latest investment has significantly boosted stocks of a company that had reportedly struggled for the last five years.

Shares of global nutrition giant Herbalife (HLF) skyrocketed more than 15% on Thursday, hitting a 52-week high of $18.98 after the company announced that football legend Cristiano Ronaldo has transitioned from long-time brand ambassador to a strategic equity investor.

The investment, revealed alongside the company’s fourth-quarter 2025 financial results, saw Ronaldo acquire a 10% stake in HBL Pro2col Software, LLC, a subsidiary housing Herbalife’s next-generation digital wellness technology.

According to Forbes, Ronaldo, 41, invested $7.5 million USD into the Pro2col platform, a data-driven digital operating system designed to provide personalized nutrition and lifestyle plans.

Beyond the capital injection, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner has committed to providing specialized services and sponsorship rights specifically to the software entity.

“Investing in Pro2col felt like a natural evolution," Ronaldo said in a statement as per the aforementioned report.

"This is about helping shape a platform that can truly change how people engage with their health and wellness".

The Herbalife deal underscores Ronaldo’s status as the world’s richest active footballer.

In 2025, he became the first footballer to join the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, with a verified net worth now estimated at $1.4 billion USD.

His financial dominance in 2026 is driven by a record-breaking $275 million annual income, combining his Al Nassr salary with a diversified empire including CR7 Hotels, WHOOP, and the AI search startup Perplexity.

Experts note that the gap between Ronaldo and his long-time rival Lionel Messi (whose net worth is currently estimated at $850M) has widened significantly due to Ronaldo’s aggressive pursuit of equity stakes over traditional endorsement fees.

Herbalife CEO Stephan Gratziani noted that the company exited 2025 with "solid momentum," with the Pro2col platform expected to launch commercially in the United States by July 2026.

Ronaldo, the only individual who boasts over a billion followers across social media is now eyeing the next chapter; building a monster health and wellness empire away from the pitch.
