Tijani was involved in a fatal car crash with his family along the Kaduna-Zaria expressway last Thursday.

Although the former Ajax man survived the crash, his brother Ibrahim, who was also in the car, died on the spot.

Ibrahim was not the only person who died from the crash as Tijani also lost his infant son, according to Emmanuel Babayaro.

His wife, who was also in the car, suffered a facial injury which claimed one of her eyes, while their maid also suffered broken bones.

“This is a difficult moment for our friend Tijjani and his entire family. After the death of Ibrahim, his little son, who was battling for life in the hospital with him, also passed away yesterday (Friday), Babayaro told newsmen.

“Right now, he is traumatised by the death of his younger brother and his son, who was always with him. His wife has lost one of her eyes because a part of her face was damaged.

“The maid also suffered a fracture in her leg, the same as a young man who was hit by the ill-fated car, Babayaro added.

Although Tijani is currently recovering in the hospital, he still is traumatised by the death of his brother and his son.

The former Super Eagles star, however, has since been transferred to a hospital in Abuja where he is to undergo surgery on his damaged knee and other injuries.
