Following in the footsteps of Victor Osimhen, who is set for a permanent exit, Anguissa is reportedly eager to move away from Italy at the end of the 2024/25 season.

Anguissa looks forward to new challenge outside Napoli

Despite being a guaranteed starter in Napoli’s midfield when fit, Anguissa appears ready to end his spell in Serie A.

According to multiple reports, including Radio Kiss Kiss and Calciomercato.com, the Cameroonian midfielder is keen to experience a different league and is not interested in extending his stay in Naples.

While his current contract is set to expire in 2025, Napoli retain the option to extend it by two more seasons, keeping him at the club until 2027.

This means that even if Anguissa is eager to move on, Napoli could activate the extension clause and then seek to sell him for a fee rather than lose him for free.

The transfer expert Fabrizio Romano also revealed that contract talks between Anguissa and Napoli are currently on hold, adding further fuel to speculation that the midfielder’s future lies elsewhere.

Anguissa’s situation mirrors Osimhen’s impending exit

Anguissa’s desire to leave Napoli is eerily similar to the situation with Victor Osimhen, who has made no secret of his intentions to depart the club permanently.

The Nigerian striker was expected to leave last summer, but failed negotiations with PSG, Chelsea, and Al-Ahli resulted in a temporary loan move to Galatasaray, where he has been in fine form.

With Osimhen widely expected to complete a permanent exit this summer, Anguissa could be the next major departure, signaling a potential shake-up in Napoli’s squad.

The Partenopei will need to make a decision soon, either cash in on Anguissa while they can or risk losing him for free when his contract expires.
