The Naija Super 8 kicks off with a big game between two Champions League sides Enyimba International and Remo Stars in Lagos.

The maiden edition of the Naija Super 8 is set to get underway with NPFL rivals Enyimba International and Remo Stars clash in the opener. 

Enyimba and Remo will renew their NPFL rivalry in the pre-season tournament set to kickoff at the Mobolaji Johnson, MJ, Arena in Lagos on Friday evening.

More than four weeks after the clashed in the NPFL Super 6, the People’s Elephant and the Sky Blues are back for more glory in Lagos.

Both teams will go head-to-head in a mouthwatering opener at the first day of the Naija Super 8.

Both Enyimba and Remo Stars are no strangers to each other and the last time they met in Lagos, it was a thriller. 

In what was also the opener of the tournament early June, the eventual champions Enyimba and Remo delivered a four-goal thriller.

Enyimba lifting their 9th league title at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, where they will battle for the Super 8.

The current NPFL champions started on a bright note but were denied by an excellent second half display from their Ikenne rivals following a 2-2 draw. 

Chukwemeka Obioma and Junior Lokosa, who was a super-sub, were the stars of the game that day after both players finished with a goal and an assist each.

Time of the game

The first game of the Naija Super 8 is set to kick off at 4:30 pm at the MJ Arena.

Like the Super 8 Playoffs in Eket last month, the grand finale in Lagos will be shown live on SuperSport.
