Mwangi joins Tusker after a stellar season for Nzoia Sugar, with the midfielder scoring 14 goals and assisting 7 times in last season's FKFPL campaign.

Tusker’s new sheriff in town Joseph Mwangi is angling to win big titles with the club after joining from last season’s surprise title challengers Nzoia Sugar in the FKF Premier League.

Mwangi, 26, joined the club after a breakthrough season with Nzoia Sugar, which saw his game elevate to new levels.

He scored 14 goals and assisted another seven times, a run of form that earned him a call up to join the national team set up in March and June this year.

Mwangi is grateful for the opportunity he had at Nzoia, but is angling to take his game to the next level at the club under the stewardship of Robert Matano.

“Joining this club is something that makes me so happy because it is a big club, not just in Kenya, but also in Africa. It has competed at the continental stage several times. I am happy to be here,” Mwangi told Pulse Sports.

“I thank everyone who helped me make my name in my time at Nzoia, from the head coach, to the team manager, company, my family  and the players.

“It is a season that I will never forget in my life. It gave me a chance to get into the national team, something I never thought I would achieve. It was a fantastic season.

Mwangi believes that the club is ingrained to challenge for titles on all fronts, and having been part of a title challenging machine, he already understands what it means to be part of a title race.

“It will help because the club has contended for the title for many years, and winning is ingrained in their culture. I am not coming here to bring them back down. I am coming to lift titles.”

The former Nyahururu Griffons star aims to build on his exceptional season and continue making significant contributions to both Tusker and the Harambee Stars.
