Liverpool's vice captain, Trent Alexander Arnold, compares his club's successes with title rivals Manchester City.

Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has weighed in on the significance of trophies for his team compared to their domestic rivals Manchester City.

Liverpool's Perspective on Success

Alexander-Arnold highlighted the importance of trophies for Liverpool, suggesting that they hold greater meaning for the club and its fans than they might for Manchester City.

Despite City's formidable reputation and track record of success, Alexander-Arnold believes that Liverpool's achievements resonate more deeply due to the contrasting circumstances surrounding both clubs.

In an interview with Four Four Two, Alexander-Arnold acknowledged the challenge of competing against City, describing them as a "machine that's built to win." However, he emphasized that Liverpool's success carries unique significance, stemming from the club's financial situation and the manner in which they've built their team.

"It's tough. We're up against a machine that's built to win - that's the simplest way to describe City and their organisation.”

“Looking back on this era, although they've won more titles than us and have probably been more successful, our trophies will mean more to us and our fanbase because of the situations at both clubs, financially.

“How both clubs have built their teams and the manner in which we've done it, probably means more to our fans."

Anticipation for Title Clash

With Liverpool and City poised to clash in a pivotal Premier League fixture, Alexander-Arnold highlighted the significance of the upcoming match. The Reds currently hold a narrow lead over City in the title race, making the showdown crucial for both teams' aspirations.
