Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is back in training for Napoli after picking up an injury against Sassuolo

Napoli talisman Victor Osimhen is reportedly back in training with the rest of his teammates after recovering from an injury on Friday against Sassuolo.

The Nigerian striker limped off in the 85th minute of Napoli's 2-0 win after scoring in the game which led to concerns about his fitness.

The club has now dispelled any injury fears by sharing pictures of Osimhen training with the rest of the Napoli team ahead of their Champions League trip to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Napoli shared pictures of first-team players in training which included Osimhen, including a confirmation that the Nigerian participated in every part of the session.

The Neapolitans were training for the last time in Italy before jetting out for Germany where they will play against Eintracht Frankfurt on Tuesday.

A statement on Napoli's website confirmed, Osimhen spent the entire session with the team. Tomorrow morning training and then departure for Frankfurt.” 

Napoli prepares for Frankfurt

The statement on Napoli's website explained the intricacies of Il Partenopei's preparations for the Champions League outing against the reigning Europa League champions.

“The Azzurri are preparing for the match against Eintracht Frankfurt scheduled for Tuesday at the Deutsche Bank Park for the first leg of the eighth-finals of the Champions League," the statement read.

Victor Osimhen came off injured against Sassuolo

"The team trained on field 3 and started the session with activation and bull. Subsequently, the group played a small match on a small field. Closing with tactical technical work," Napoli concluded.

Napoli are now likely to have the services of their top scorer Osimhen against Frankfurt which is a big deal as the 24-year-old has scored 19 goals in 23 games across all competitions.
