Harambee Stars' Captain Olunga leads foreign-based stars in intense World Cup qualifiers preparations.

Celebrated Kenya international Michael Olunga joined the Harambee Stars squad on Sunday ahead of the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Gabon and Seychelles.

Olunga arrived in the country on Saturday night along with a group of other foreign-based players who are eager to represent their nation in qualification phase.

The Qatar-based attacker is joined by a talented group of players, including Anthony 'Teddy' Akumu, Duke Abuya, Masud Juma, Nabi Kibunguchy, and Duncan Otieno, who have also reported to the Harambee Stars camp at Kasarani.

The foreign-based contingent is set to be further bolstered with the arrival of players like Joseph Okumu, a defender based in France, Timothy Ouma, who plies his trade in Sweden, Eric Johanna, based in Romania, and Daniel Anyembe, who plays in Denmark.

As the team gathers momentum, several other foreign-based players are expected to arrive on Sunday night.

However, it is not just the international stars who are gearing up for the World Cup qualifiers. The local-based players led by Geoffrey Ochieng from Gor Mahia are also in camp.

The road to the 2026 FIFA World Cup will not be an easy one, as Kenya finds itself in Group F of the qualifiers.

The group includes formidable opponents such as Côte d’Ivoire, Gabon, The Gambia, Burundi, and Seychelles.

Harambee Stars will kick off their World Cup qualification campaign with a challenging fixture against Gabon on Thursday, November 16, 2023, in Franceville.

Subsequently, they will face Seychelles on Monday, November 20, 2023, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where they will aim to secure another vital victory.
