Confluence Queens will battle Bayelsa Queens on matchday three of the NWFL Super 6 tournament.

Heartland Queens captain Opara Chimebere has expressed her disappointment after her team's 2-0 defeat to Confluence Queens in the NWFL Super Six.

The encounter at the Samson Siasia Stadium marked the closing match of day two, with a vibrant atmosphere surrounding the game.

Heartland Queens entered the match hoping to capitalize on the momentum gained from their goalless draw against Nasarawa Amazons.

Heartland Queens fail to take advantage of first-half dominance

Despite a strong showing in the first half, Heartland Queens were unable to find the back of the net.

These missed chances came back to haunt Heartland Queens later in the game.

Their failure to convert in the first half proved costly. In the 76th minute, Confluence Queens won a penalty, with Merit Offor stepping up for the successful conversion.

Heartland Queens' hope for a comeback was dashed when super-substitute Feranmi Oduntade rose above the defense to head home a goal in the 87th minute, sealing all three points for Confluence Queens.

"I'm not happy that we lost. If we had converted our chances in the first half, the game would have been different. They had their chances and converted them.

"If we can go back and correct ourselves, I think we will do better. I will try and motivate the team," she told Pulse Sports.
