NWFL: Bayelsa Queens beg fans for prayers ahead of new season

Bayelsa Queens will travel to Akure Township stadium for a date against newly promoted side, Sunshine Queens on Matchday one.

Former champions of the Nigeria women Footbal League (NWFL), Bayelsa Queens has appealed to their fans to support the team spiritually ahead of the 2023-2024 season.

NWFL will kick off on November 15 with matches across different centres.

Pulse Sports reports that the Prosperity girls was drawn in Group B that was described as group of death with Remo stars alongside the defending champions, Delta Queens, former champions Rivers Angels, Sunshine Queens, Robo Queens, Edo Queens, Ekiti Queens and Delta Queens.

In Group A, along with Nassarawa Amazons, Heartland Queens, Confluence Queens, Adamawa Queens, Naija Ratels, Royal Queens, Dannaz Ladies and Abia Angels.

Appealing to the fans, Bayelsa Queens said, "We are ready to take on the challenge of the new season! Here are our fixtures for the first round of the NWFL Premiership 2023/24.

"We need your support and prayers as we face some tough opponents in our quest to make history. Let’s show them what BayelsaQueens are made of, " Bayelsa Queens said on social media

NWFL promises welfare package for players

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), Nkechi Obi, has promised that the NWFL board have plans for Players welfare.

Obi disclosed this at the official kick-off ceremony of the sixth edition of the Sheroes Cup in Abuja.

"In the coming season, the NWFL management will be unveiling a welfare package for players, demonstrating our commitment to the growth of women's football," she said.
