The 43-year-old American coach has revealed what he will do to get Nigerians to see the Super Eagles they want.

Michael Nsien, the current U.S. Under-19 national team coach has emerged as a surprise candidate for the vacant Nigeria head coach role after outlining his ambition to lead the Super Eagles in an attacking, flair-filled style.

The 43-year-old, who was born in Nigeria before emigrating to the United States as a child, believes his unique background and philosophy make him the ideal fit to revive the three-time African champions.

Nsien's playing career took him to MLS with LA Galaxy, Portland Timbers and the Saudi League, while he has coached several age-grade U.S. national teams since 2015.

His success at instilling an attacking, progressive brand of football appears perfectly aligned with the expectations of Nigeria's fanatical supporters.

Nsien is undoubtedly a left-field contender, but his bidding comments showcase huge ambition to make the step up and put his stamp on the underperforming giants.

The race to succeed Jose Peseiro is likely to heat up quickly, giving Nsien a chance to further state his case in the coming weeks.
