Recall that the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) appointed Nkechi Obi to head the NWFL, with Hajiya Hussaina Suleman as vice chairman.

SNWFSC President, Jadesola Adelabu described Madam Nkechi Obi as a distinguished top sports administrator that will be bringing her rare wealth of experience to the NWFL.
The SNWFSC President further promised the new NWFL supremo of the supporters club the utmost support for the women's league body.

She said, "We want to congratulate the newly appointed chairperson of the NWFL board, Madam Nkechi Obi, and wish her all the best in her new role.
"Over the years, Madam Nkechi Obi had distinguished herself as an advocate for the development of women's football in Nigeria and have contributed to its growth.

"She will be bringing her wealth of experience at the top of the women's game coupled with the fact that she's a marketing guru, in her, we would be having a great sports administrator at the top of the women's football league in Nigeria.
