Emmanuel Amuneke has praised African Footballer of the Year Victor Osimhen but says a Tottenham forward is the next big thing on the continent.
Newly crowned African Footballer of the Year, Victor Osimhen, has received high praise from Super Eagles legend, Emmanuel Amuneke.
Amuneke is happy to see his compatriot and former player, Osimhen, represent the continent well at the highest level but believes there is another group of players led by Tottenham’s Pape Sarr who can reach the heights of the Napoli icon.

The former Nigerian youth coach made the comments during an interview with Tribal Football.
Speaking on Osimhen and the potential in Africa, Amuneke stated that some good talents are showcasing Africa at the highest level.

"Yeah, we have seen already there are some excellent young (African) players who are currently playing in Europe," Amuneke said.
"For example, we have a Senegal player called (Pape Matar), Sarr who is playing for Tottenham, there's (Samuel) Chukwueze at Milan. And of course, Osimhen at Napoli. I think in the future we will see new names and new faces."

Nigeria’s Osimhen has taken the Serie A by storm following his move to Napoli from LOSC Lille.
The 24-year-old has proved to be a hit after leading the club from Naples to a first league title in over 30 years.

But despite his achievements so far, Osimhen’s former youth coach says Sarr has the potential to match him.
"The players we have now like Osimhen, Sarr, etc are doing very well and are representing the African Nation very well," the former Nigeria international added.
Sarr, who joined Spurs last year from Metz, is yet to establish himself at the North London club. But Amuneke feels the now 21-year-old, who has one goal and two assists for Spurs, possesses enormous potential to reach Osimhen’s heights.
