Barcelona midfielder Pedri reveals how he is working to overcome his injury problems.

Barcelona's young midfield sensation, Pedri, has taken proactive steps to reshape his lifestyle and diet in an effort to combat persistent injury woes.

At just 21, Pedri has faced a challenging time with injuries, limiting his presence on the field for the Catalan giants. Despite his talent, these physical setbacks have been a significant hindrance, prompting him to make crucial changes off the pitch.

Pedri's Battle with Injuries

Since his arrival at Barcelona, Pedri has shown flashes of brilliance, but injuries have been a constant thorn in his side. The Spanish international has only managed to start 39 out of 94 possible La Liga matches since the beginning of the 2021-22 season.

His current injury means he will miss the upcoming league match against his former club, Las Palmas. Reflecting on his situation, Pedri told streamer Ibai Llanos on his Twitch channel, per the Athletic, “My first season at the club was so long... I played 73 games and it might have made an impact on my current state; we won’t know, but at that point, I had the desire to conquer the world.”

Lifestyle Overhaul for Recovery

In an effort to turn things around, Pedri is leaving no stone unturned. He has adopted a new diet and incorporated pilates into his routine, following advice from Barça legend Carles Puyol. Additionally, he's utilising a hyperbaric chamber frequently.

He shared, “Everyone says that as soon as you have the first injury, it’s easier to have new ones. But now I am working on both a physical and psychological level to make sure the injuries do not reoccur. I’ve changed my diet, and now I also do pilates after a recommendation from Carles Puyol. I also use a hyperbaric chamber frequently.”

As Pedri works towards his recovery, there's hope and expectation among the Barcelona faithful for his swift return. The team is gearing up for their next La Liga match against Las Palmas on January 4, followed by a Copa del Rey clash with semi-professional side Barbastro on January 7. Fans and the club alike will be eager to see Pedri back in action, bringing his unique blend of skill and vision back to the midfield.
