AFC Leopards winger Clifton Miheso has explained what the club is targeting for the rest of the season after securing their second win of the campaign last weekend

AFC Leopards vice captain Clifton Miheso has revealed the side’s target for the remainder of the season following their monumental 2-0 win over title challengers Kakamega Homeboyz at the Nyayo National Stadium last Sunday.

Miheso netted Leopards’ first goal from the penalty spot before Hassan Beja put the nail in the coffin with the second goal to gift Ingwe their second win of the season and move them out of the relegation places.

The Kenyan international has revealed that Leopards aim at finishing the first leg on a high before carrying that momentum into the second leg if they are to stand a chance of achieving something substantial this season.

“Right now, our target as a team is to finish strong this first leg and to have a very strong second leg,” Miheso told Pulse Sports.

“That is our focus as a team, every player is focused to achieve that target and get a strong second leg.”

Leopards had won a single game in the past 14 rounds, pilling pressure on the Tomas Trucha led technical bench that had been accused of inability to get the best out of the players.

The 30-year-old left Leopards in 2016 for South African side Golden Arrows where he had bit-part role before ditching them for Buildcon FC in Zambia and also had a short stint at Clube Olímpico do Montijo in Portugal before returning home to join Kenya Police, then plying their trade in the National Super League.

He left them to join Gor Mahia in 2019 and after a two-year stint, rejoined Police following their promotion to the Premier League.

Miheso emerged as the second top scorer in the league in the 2021-22 season after netting 15 goals, one shy of Derrick Otanga of KCB, with the Law Enforcers extending his deal.

He will be hoping to replicate his form from two years ago, with his goal the first of many for the rest of the season.
