Pep Guardiola has received high appreciation from Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino for his accomplishments while leading Manchester City.

Chelsea's new manager Mauricio Pochettino was interviewed by the first press for the first time since his appointment in May.

Pochettino joined Chelsea after the club had a disappointing 2022/2023 season where they finished 12th in the league table.

In his first interview as a Chelsea manager, the Argentine made some impressive comments about City and their manager.

When asked if City are unbeatable now that they have won the treble in his first press conference as the new Chelsea manager, Pochettino said, as reported by Manchester City News, “I want to congratulate Pep.

“It is amazing to see a club that worked very well for many years with stability and the tools to give the coach the job that he was doing.

“I think we need to believe also that we can create good things, it’s going to be tough but we need to believe.”

The Citizens have won five Premier League titles, two FA Cups, four League Cups, and one Champions League during Guardiola's leadership.

Chelsea looking to emulate City

In his third stint as manager of an English team, the new Chelsea manager will be hoping to have success like this.

Given that Chelsea's Premier League finish last year was 11 spots lower than City's, it's clear that the 51-year-old will have a difficult time bringing his team from Stamford Bridge anywhere close to Guardiola's group.

He has, however, made a good first impression by asserting that he thinks he can succeed in his new position.

Pochettino will be looking to succeed as a Chelsea manager and will put all he has to make sure his team compete next season.
