Man United are working towards getting extra security in light of the news that the Glazers will still remain at the club.

According to reports from the Sun, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is thought to be putting out a proposal to buy just a 25% stake in the Red Devils.

This means that the Glazers, who said they were open to a sale in November, will continue to own three-quarters of the Premier League powerhouse, infuriating supporters.

The news could trigger more outrage from Man United fans when the team face Copenhagen at Old Trafford in the Champions League next Tuesday.

There has been speculation among fan organisations of a walkout or potential boycott when the Red Devils play Manchester City at home the following Saturday.

Ratcliffe's presence will undoubtedly be welcomed, but the club's security team is preparing for potential unrest as they prepare for the next games.

Police have acknowledged that they collaborate closely with the group, according to Chief Superintendent Collette Rose, “Greater Manchester Police (GMP) will be assisting Manchester United outside Old Trafford during the match with Copenhagen.

“Officers will be highly visible to maintain safety while facilitating the right to peaceful protest.

“GMP has significant experience in policing public demonstrations and live events and officers liaise with local football clubs, as well as partner agencies, on a regular basis to ensure football fixtures pass with as little disruption as possible, so everyone can enjoy the game.”
