Manchester United have accepted a bid from West Ham worth 30 million pounds for their deposed captain.

West Ham United have reached an agreement to sign Manchester United defender Harry Maguire.

The London club had offered £30 million for Maguire, and that sum has now been accepted.

David Moyes’ side are seeking reinforcements after selling Declan Rice to Arsenal in a deal worth £105million, while Maguire will hope to revive his career after falling down the pecking order under Erik ten Hag.

The 30-year-old made just 16 Premier League appearances last season, with Lisandro Martinez, Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof preferred in central defence. The England international was also relieved of the Manchester United captaincy earlier this summer.

According to the Athletic, h Maguire, whose contract runs until 2025, hoped to stay and fight for his place at Old Trafford, but England manager Gareth Southgate has indicated that a lack of playing time at United could impact his international career.

Maguire joined United from Leicester for £80million in the summer of 2019 but the club are seeking to offload players this summer after signing Andre Onana, Mason Mount and Rasmus Hojlund.

West Ham have also made a £30m bid for Scott McTominay, but that has been rejected.
