Liverpool have endured a torrid season and the upcoming transfer window offers the club an opportunity to rebuild, especially in midfield.
Liverpool have reportedly informed James Maddison's representatives that they are interested in signing the midfielder this summer as the Anfield club look to rebuild following a poor season.
Maddison is now back to his best after a period of injuries and inconsistent performances. The 26-year-old has been a standout performer for the Foxes as they battle relegation.
He has played his part by contributing 9 goals and 6 assists in 21 Premier League outings.
Leicester’s poor form has not reflected negatively on Maddison who received a call-up to the England squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and he made his first start for the Three Lions in their 2-0 win against Ukraine last month.
Liverpool prepared to test Leicester's resolve for Maddison
According to 90min, Leicester are braced for the departure of the talented midfielder and his desire to leave the club has been reinforced by his decision to turn down several contract offers.
The report adds that Leicester would be willing to listen to offers starting from £50m for the playmaker.
Furthermore, it is being reported that Liverpool have reached out to Maddison's camp to signal their interest and willingness to proceed to the negotiation table.
Mount has a deal at Chelsea until the summer of 2024 and talks to extend that deal have stalled.
The disagreement is centered around his preferred wage package with the midfielder asking for a figure in excess of £250,000 a week and Chelsea not willing to go that high.
Mount's desire to feel valued could be something for Klopp and Liverpool to use to their advantage as the player will command a starting place, should a move happen.
