Amid changes at Anfield, a key Liverpool player has offered a candid assessment of his future and career aspirations.
Alisson Becker expects Liverpool to activate their option to extend his contract by an additional year, though he has also expressed a desire to eventually return to his boyhood club, Internacional.
Alisson, a two-time Premier League winner, has become an integral player for Liverpool and is widely considered one of the world's best goalkeepers since joining the club seven years ago.
In 2021, the shot-stopper committed his future to Anfield by signing a deal through to 2026, which includes a club option for an extra 12 months.

Alisson comments on future
The 32-year-old goalkeeper, speaking at a press conference ahead of Brazil's 2026 World Cup qualifier, stated his belief that the extension will be made official.
However, the Liverpool man emphasised that his immediate focus remains on securing Brazil's qualification for the upcoming World Cup.
"I've never been able to plan long term. Obviously now I have one year left on my contract and another year of club option, which they will probably exercise," said the Liverpool shot-stopper.
"It's a decisive moment in my career, with a World Cup coming up. I want to be very focused, I don't want anything external to get in the way of that."

Alisson also addressed the possibility of following other Brazilian players who have returned to play club football in their homeland.
"I talk to athletes who have made this move to return, some have had good experiences, others not,” he continued.
"Each one will have their own experience, but I want to return, especially to Inter. I don't know when it will happen, but I still want to do it at a high level. That's what I have planned."
What’s next for Alisson?
Liverpool can expect to retain their key Brazilian goalkeeper this summer despite the ongoing changes in the club's goalkeeping unit, with Armin Pecs joining from Puskas Akademia and academy graduate Caoimhin Kelleher moving to Brentford.
An agreement was reached last year with Georgian international Giorgi Mamardashvili, who officially completes his transfer at the start of July.
