The 26-year-old Harambee Stars prospect followed up from his dominating display for Bristol over Jamie Vardy's Leicester on Good Friday with another over Plymouth

Harambee Stars defensive prospect Zak Vyner Onyego picked up where he left off against Leicester City by helping Bristol City get one over Plymouth in an Easter Monday EFL Championship clash.

Onyego, who played on the right side of a back three, looked comfortable all afternoon, made six tackles and interceptions, and won all four of his attempted ground duels.

He also had an 84 percent pass accuracy on the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Nahki Wells' second-half goal proved decisive for  Bristol City.

The decisive moment arrived in the 57th minute when Jason Knight's forward drive led to Anis Mehmeti's shot, which Plymouth goalkeeper Michael Cooper acrobatically saved.

However, Wells was in the right place at the right time to nod in the rebound from close range, giving Bristol City the lead.

Plymouth's task was made even more difficult when midfielder Alfie Devine was shown a red card in the 78th minute after receiving a second yellow for a foul.

Despite Plymouth's efforts, they struggled to find a breakthrough, with their best chance coming from top-scorer Morgan Whittaker's thunderous volley, which narrowly missed the target.

Bristol City goalkeeper Max O'Leary was called into action multiple times, making crucial saves to deny Plymouth's attacking threats, including a one-handed stop to thwart Scott Twine's attempt.

Plymouth's hopes of salvaging a point were dashed as they failed to mount a late comeback, with Devine's sending-off further hampering their chances.

The result sees Bristol City claim all three points and condemn Plymouth to their fifth home defeat in the Championship, adding to their relegation worries as the season progresses.
