Kenyan chef Bernice Kariuki has made a decision to step down from her role as Chef to the English Premier League side Arsenal.

Kariuki announced her departure on Sunday, ending her two-year stay at the 13-time premier league champions.

"A final day flourish. Finished the season with a bang! Simply the best!!! Arsenal… Arsenal… Arsenal.. 2020/2023, the best special season ever. I hang my gloves as a very proud chef, it’s been an honour working for the best club in the whole world. I was truly humbled," she wrote.

The Jericho-born chef also thanked Kenyans for their support over the years.

“More blessings my next job it’s like dream royally truly humbled… Asanteni sana especially my country," she added.

Kariuki has been cooking exclusively for Arsenal first-team players, the management team, and technical bench members.

She also managed the daily well-being and nutrition of the team before and after matches and prepared menus for the traveling team.

Kariuki joined Arsenal in mid-2021 on the heels of Mikel Arteta’s appointment as Arsenal's manager and has been working under Darren Taylor, the Executive Chef at Arsenal.

The 52-year-old Kariuki is an alumnus of London’s Westminster Kingsway College, where she studied culinary arts.

She has worked at top hotels across the globe, including The Lanesborough, The Dorchester, and The Waldorf Hilton.
