Mwalala oversaw what was arguably the worst defeat of his coaching career as his Bankers side were totally outclassed by Tusker 5-0 on Sunday.

KCB FC head coach Bernard Mwalala has spoken for the first time since his side was subjected to a humiliating 5-0 defeat to Tusker FC last weekend.

Mwalala oversaw what was arguably the worst defeat of his coaching career as his Bankers were totally outclassed by Tusker.

Speaking to the club’s media in the aftermath of the game, Mwalala has challenged his boys to forget the setback they had to endure, asking them to get themselves back on their feet.

“Everyday we work hard so as to attain positive results on each matchday but just as in life, football is not immune to setbacks,” Mwalala said.

“It is such setbacks and disappointing results that shape us into becoming better at what we do. It is never about how badly you fall but by how quick you pick yourself up, take your lessons, and prepare for the next battle.

“As a team, we picked our lessons and promise to come back stronger.”

The former Harambee Stars striker believes that their season objectives will remain the same - to win a trophy by the end of the season.

“Our targets and objectives for this season remain the same. We will now work twice as hard to achieve our objectives.”

Mwalala has waxed lyrical, saying that it was just a missed hunt for his lions who need to regroup for future endeavors.

"Lions don't stop hunting because of an unsuccessful hunt, they instead regroup, sharpen their claws and canines then go back to hunt again."
