Odhiambo reveals what Homeboyz needs to work on if they are to do well against Al Hilal in the Confederation Cup following the Shield trophy loss to Gor Mahia.
Kamaega Homeboyz head coach Patrick Odhiambo believes his side are ready to face Al Hilal Benghazi in their preliminary CAF Confederation Cup match next week despite losing the FKF Charity Shield to Gor Mahia on Saturday.
Homeboyz drew 1-1 in regulation time, before being penalized on penalties by K’ogalo 4-2, which consigned them to picking up the runners-up medals at Kasarani.
Odhiambo believes defending set-pieces is an area they will need to work on if they are to stand a chance of doing well against Al Hilal later this week.
“The game was good despite the fact that all goals scored today were from set piece situations. They scored from a set piece situation and we also scored from a set piece situation,” Odhiambo said.

Odhiambo says the side’s preparations for their test against Al Hilal have been positive, and believes they have the capability to upset the Libyan giants and make more history.
“We have prepared well and will be ready for that match. The new players that we have also added to the side are doing well.
“I am confident that we will do well when the season starts. We are ready to fight for our team in order to try and go as far as we can, even a shot at actually winning the league.”
Homeboyz are set to face Al Hilal at the Nyayo National Stadium in the first leg of the preliminary round of the Confederation Cup, before traveling to Libya to face the outfit in the return leg.
