Arsenal have completed the signing of Chelsea midfielder Kai Havertz after spending three years at Stamford Bridge.

The German international became the Gunners' first signing of the summer after a fee of £60 million plus an additional £5 million in add-ons was agreed by both parties.

The former Chelsea midfielder struggled to impress during his three years at Chelsea and has been considered a flop by Chelsea fans.

Havertz's quality and talent drew Arsenal’s attention despite having a poor performance for Chelsea.

We at Pulse Sports take a look at Havertz’s quality and what he brings to improve this current Arsenal squad.

Qualities Havertz can bring to Arsenal

1. Aerial ability

One of Kai Havertz’s qualities is his ability to contest for aerial balls and score headed goals which he has done most times at Chelsea.

According to Opta stats, "Since the start of last season, only Harry Kane (11) has scored more headed goals in the Premier League than Kai Havertz (6)."

The new Arsenal signing will bring a lot of aerial presence to the team making them a dangerous entity aerially.

2. Top off the ball runs

The former Chelsea midfielder is also good at making off-the-ball runs and creating space for other players.

Kai Havertz off the ball movement and run-making are right up there with the best in the League which is why Arteta wanted him.

Granit Xhaka has always been the player making those off-the-ball runs for Arsenal last season but with a player like Havertz who is a natural in making those runs, the Gunners now have a gem to rely on.

3. Final pass vision

Havertz is one of those players with the best final pass when he is at his best although, we did not see much of that at Chelsea due to the fact that he hardly plays in his position.

During his days at Bayer Leverkusen, he played behind the striker giving him the space and privilege to put in those final passes when he was deployed behind the striker which is what Arteta wants from him next season.

4. Big game player

One thing you can’t take away from Havertz is his ability to turn up in big games which he has always done in the past.

On the big stage for Germany and Chelsea, he has always been spectacular. He scored against Manchester City in the Champions League final in 2021 and also the Fifa Club World Cup.

He has also scored in crucial games against big teams like Real Madrid and Dortmund in the Champions League.

He hardly gets missed during big games and will be very important for Arsenal when it comes to big games.

5. Versatility

Another ability Kai Havertz possesses is his ability to play across multiple positions for his team.

The German international can play as a centre midfielder, attacking midfielder, winger and as striker which he did multiple times at Chelsea.

Arteta wants players that can play at least two positions on the field which is what Havertz will give him next season.
