Fenerbahce’s new coach, Jose Mourinho, has opened the door to the possibility of Real Madrid's youngster Arda Guler returning to the club.
Guler, 19, joined Los Blancos in the summer from Sari Kanaryalar, and he struggled to break into Carlo Ancelotti’s team.
The Italian tactician eventually found utility for him towards the end of the season, and he scored six goals in his final seven games; however, with the impending arrivals at Real Madrid, his game time could continue to suffer next season.
What Mourinho said about Guler
Only a season after receiving €20 million from Real Madrid for their academy graduate, Guler, there are reports of a return, and a question of the possibility was proposed to new manager Jose Mourinho.
The reports of a season-long loan back at his boyhood club have been making the rounds, and when Jose was asked, he suggested that Guler would rather stay at Real Madrid before going on to name the conditions in which he could return.
“If he wants to come... but honestly, when you are at Real Madrid and you are European champion and you are going to play against World Cup clubs and you are young, I don’t think you have it in mind to return,” Mourinho said, per GFNS.
“But if he loves the club where he grew up and wants to come for free, and if Real Madrid pays him 75% of his salary, we wouldn’t say no.”
Meanwhile, speaking more about additions to his current squads, Mourinho dismissed rumours linking players from his former club, Roma, to his current side, Fenerbahce.
