Harambee Stars' Johnstone Omurwa shines in his full return from injury as Estrela Amadora faces Gil Vicente in a thrilling match.

Harambee Stars defender Johnstone Omurwa made a triumphant return to the pitch, playing the full 90 minutes for Estrela Amadora in a Liga Portugal clash against Gil Vicente on Sunday night.

Omurwa's recent return to action was eagerly awaited by fans and his team alike, as he had been nursing an injury since November.

The defender's presence on the field was a blessing for Estrela Amadora, and he did not disappoint as he displayed resilience and determination throughout the match.

The game kicked off with Gil Vicente taking an early lead after just 12 minutes, courtesy of a goal from Gabriel Pereira, who capitalized on a header deflection following a corner.

Estrela found it challenging to respond, struggling to establish counter-offensives and break free from their opponent's midfield dominance.

However, the second half saw a spirited resurgence from Estrela Amadora.

Coach Sérgio Vieira's decision to introduce Gustavo Henrique and alter the team's formation injected fresh dynamics into the game.

As a result, the Amadora team began to show real signs of recovery, with André Luíz missing a golden opportunity to level the score in the 51st minute.

On the other side, Gil Vicente struggled to maintain their early dominance and failed to create significant scoring opportunities.

Their attacks lacked sharpness, and they retreated with many misplaced passes, diminishing their presence in Estrela Amadora's area.

Despite Gil Vicente's efforts, the momentum continued to shift in favor of the Lisbon-based team. They relentlessly tested Vincente goalkeeper Andrew's skills, with Kikas and Pedro Sá attempting to find the back of the net.

The pressure eventually paid off as Régis, who had been brought on in the second half, scored an equalizer from a free-kick at a distance, leveling the score at 1-1 in the final moments of the game.

With this hard-fought draw, Gil Vicente, who has struggled to secure a win in their recent matches, provisionally maintains the 15th place in the Liga Portugal standings with 16 points.

Meanwhile, Estrela Amadora, who has also faced difficulties in the championship, remains in the 10th position with 18 points.

Both teams will be looking to build on this result as they continue their campaigns in the Liga Portugal.
