Iwobi explains tactical turnaround
Reflecting on their opening match against Equatorial Guinea, Iwobi disclosed, as reported by Fulhamfc, "We thought it was a lucky escape."
The Equatoguineans held Nigeria to a 1-1 draw after netting the opener in the 36th minute, prompting the Super Eagles to reevaluate their approach.
With the next match against tournament hosts, Cote d'Ivoire, Iwobi explained, "The manager’s gone a bit defensive, put five at the back."

This tactical adjustment to a 5-3-2 formation proved pivotal as Nigeria clinched a 1-0 victory against the Elephants.
Following the success against Cote d'Ivoire, Iwobi remarked, "Confidence is high thinking, 'yeah this formation sticks, it’ll work.'"
