AC Milan manager Sergio Conceição has acknowledged he may have underestimated Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze, following his game-changing contribution in a 3-1 comeback victory over Bologna on Friday night.

Chukwueze, who has struggled to secure a regular starting spot, came off the bench to register his first assist of the season, helping Milan overturn a deficit and reignite their attack.

Milan dominated the first half but failed to convert their chances, as Bologna’s Riccardo Orsolini scored just before the break.

However, Chukwueze’s pivotal impact came after his introduction in the 65th minute, revitalising Milan’s attack.

Santiago Giménez equalised, followed by Pulisic’s decisive goal. In stoppage time, Chukwueze provided a precise assist for Giménez’s second, sealing a 3-1 victory.

The 25-year-old has been limited to nine Serie A starts this season, with three goals and one assist, but his recent performance, creating two chances, including the decisive assist, has given Conceição food for thought as Chukwueze seeks more minutes.
