Chelsea legend Eden Hazard has revealed he would love to see a former teammate manage Chelsea in the near future.

Eden Hazard has expressed his desire to see his ex-teammate Cesc Fabregas manage the club one day, citing the Spaniard's impressive start to his coaching career at Como.

Hazard, who retired from football after leaving Real Madrid, shared the pitch with Fabregas at Stamford Bridge from 2014 to 2019. Together, they were instrumental in a successful period for the Blues, securing five major trophies.

While the Belgian playmaker has hung up his boots, Fabregas transitioned into management after his playing career ended in 2023. He took the helm at Italian club Como, initially with their youth setup, before being appointed first-team manager in July 2024 after guiding them to promotion into Serie A.

Fabregas's impact has been significant. After a respectable 10th-place finish in their first season back in the top flight, Como currently sit sixth in the 2025-26 campaign, just four points shy of a Champions League spot.

Despite Chelsea's recent appointment of Liam Rosenior to replace Enzo Maresca, Hazard believes Fabregas's return to West London is inevitable.

"I'll be honest, we talked a bit in the summer," Hazard revealed via Bein Sports.

"I told him he was one of the best midfielders in history and that he's destined to become one of the best coaches as well."

"I explained to him that the time has come for him to return to Chelsea, and he joked about it, but I really believe it. He loves football and knows everything about this sport."

"I'm a Chelsea fan, and I want the best for the club," Hazard added. "That's why I dream of seeing Cesc on their bench, while I'll be staying in the stands behind him, enjoying the show."

His possession-based approach is also evident, with Como completing 25,747 successful passes in the league during his tenure—a figure bettered only by Napoli, Juventus, and Inter.

Even when they don't score, Fabregas's side demonstrates a potent attacking threat. In a recent goalless draw against Atalanta, Como registered an expected goals (xG) value of 5.24. According to Opta data dating back to 2010-11, this is the second-highest xG recorded in a Serie A match where neither team managed to find the net.
