Harry Kane showed public support for his former teammate Dele Alli who revealed heart-wrenching details about his childhood and mental health in an interview.

Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has now openly shown his support to his former teammate Dele Alli, who a few weeks ago had an emotional interview with Gary Neville.

Kane and Alli have a personal relationship and have both shared a dressing room at Tottenham Hotspur and the England national team.

The Everton midfielder spoke recently to Neville, narrating his troubled childhood, which included selling drugs, his relationship with his parents, whom he is now estranged from, and his battle with his mental health.

What Harry Kane said

The 30-year-old acknowledged Dele Alli's bravery in discussing what many professionals shy away from.

"I think it was extremely brave of Dele to come out and give the interview he gave," Kane said, per Goal

"We've known each other for a period of time, but I didn't know the extent of what he had been through in his life, for sure. It was eye-opening for me to hear that.

“I texted him afterwards and said how much I think what he did will help a lot of people as well feel comfortable in sharing their feelings and sharing what they've been through.

"I caught up with Dele in the summer, but that was before the interview. He seemed to be on a good track. I know he's been working hard to get fit. I can't wait to hopefully see him back out playing football again.

“I think he is definitely in a better place now. He's still got a lot of time left in his career, and I'm one person who really hopes he can get back on track and see him playing week in, week out."
