Silva joined Chelsea in 2020 from Paris Saint-Germain and admitted that it felt like 'love at first sight' when he arrived at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea's veteran defender, Thiago Silva has confirmed a decision has been made regarding his future at the club.

Fans can expect an official announcement in the coming days. There has been speculation about his departure since his contract ends this summer.

The 39-year-old centre-back was in tears after Chelsea's FA Cup semi-final loss to Man City. His wife's social media post also hinted at a farewell.

Silva joined Chelsea in 2020 from Paris Saint-Germain and won the UEFA Champions League in 2021 after he arrived at Stamford Bridge.

So far, he has made 149 appearances for the West London club, scoring nine goals. His love for the club has also made him dream of one of his kids turning out for the Blues one day.

"I don't want to say anything now with my head in a defeat, a bit of sadness. But sooner or later it's going to happen. The news will come out.

"I already have made a decision in my head. I don't think it's cool that a lot of people talk about it. I'm sorry. Soon you will know, " he told Hayters TV

Earlier this year, the centre-back admitted that his professional career was 'almost over.'

"I don't have anything scheduled for later, I'm just looking to have fun,' he told Hayters TV in January, when asked if he could end up returning to Brazil to finish his career.

"We know it's almost over, but it's not the end yet. So pick the right time. I'm still able to maintain a good performance, my numbers are good, and this gives me peace of mind to continue. Now, the future belongs to God."
