Manchester United fans have mocked Kylian Mbappe for trying and failing to score a bicycle kick like Alejandro Garnacho

After watching Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbpappe try and fail to score an outrageous overhead kick against Newcastle in the UEFA Champions League, fans have made fun of the French forward, comparing his miss to Manchester United’s Alejandro Garnacho’s goal against Everton.

Mbappe equaliser denies Newcastle

Kylian Mbappe was the hero for PSG when they played out a 1-1 draw against Newcastle in the Champions League, scoring a penalty in injury time to rescue a point for the French side, but he came close to scoring a completely different goal in the match against the Magpies as well.

The France national team captain almost got an earlier equaliser for PSG when he attempted to score an audacious bicycle kick in the 55th minute.

However, the star forward was unable to connect properly to the ball with his effort and failed to hit the target, leading to ridicule from Manchester United who accused him of trying to recreate Garnacho’s strike against Everton

Garnacho’s screamer against Everton

Manchester United’s Argentine forward Garnacho was the talk of the town over the weekend after scoring a sensational overhead kick against Everton.

The goal was reminiscent of Wayne Rooney’s strike for the Red Devils against Manchester City, as well as Cristiano Ronaldo’s goal against Juventus for Real Madrid in the UCL, earning Garnacho comparisons to both players.

Fans mock Mbappe for failed bicycle kick

Mbappe’s attempt to recreate the overhead kick goal was properly mocked by fans, who immediately compared his miss to the goal that Garnacho scored against Everton.

“Mbappe wanted to score a bicycle,” one fan said, while another said, “Mbappe thought he was Garnacho.”

The French striker got the last laugh, eventually scoring the equaliser for PSG against Newcastle, earning his side a 1-1 draw.
