Former Arsenal and Chelsea star Emmanuel Petit has backed Cristiano Ronaldo to have a successful post-football career in Hollywood, even suggesting that the Portugal international could have an Oscar Award in his future.

Cristiano Ronaldo is actively laying the groundwork for a post-football career in Hollywood and the broader entertainment industry as he approaches the end of his playing days.
In April 2025, he teamed up with British filmmaker Matthew Vaughn to launch UR•Marv, an independent film studio said to have already financed and produced two action films and is working on a third.
That move into movies has sparked high-profile speculation about Ronaldo’s on-screen future. Fast & Furious star Vin Diesel publicly hinted that a role has been “written for him” in the upcoming Fast & Furious finale, fuelling excitement about a possible Hollywood cameo or acting debut.
What Petit said
The former France international discussed Ronaldo’s possible foray into Hollywood when he retires from football and expressed full confidence in his ability to thrive in the media and entertainment sector.
“Could Cristiano Ronaldo end up being a huge movie star? Definitely. The surprise is why we don't see many more sportspeople in movies. We see rappers, we see influencers, we see so many well-known people going into film, but not sports people. Why?” he said, per Goal.
“We are entertaining people as well. In sport, we have the character for that. I know that Eric Cantona has been doing that, Vinnie Jones, David Ginola, as well as Frank Leboeuf have done that. Why can't more do that?
