267 and counting

Tottenham and England legend Harry Kane’s winner against Manchester City took him to 267 goals for the club, moving him above Jimmy Greaves to become Spurs’ stand-alone all-time top scorer in all competitions.

Kane had drawn level with Greaves when he scored in the London derby against Fulham in January, but his brilliantly taken goal took him above Greaves and any other player in Tottenham’s history.

Kane’s goal was also his 200th in the Premier League, putting him in great company alongside Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney, as the only players to score 200 goals or more in the English Premier League.

He still has a few records to catch up with, including Greaves' record of 220 goals for Tottenham in the English first division, and Shearer’s 260 Premier League goal record, but with age on his side and his form showing no sign of dwindling, it is hard to look past Kane reaching those milestones.

Harry Kane the Tottenham legend

Kane has been at Tottenham since he was nine years old and has written his name into the club’s folklore, becoming an indubitable legend at Spurs thanks to several years of impeccable service.

Kane has been Tottenham’s top scorer in every season since his first full season with the club, and if he finishes this season as the top scorer again, he will have done so in eight consecutive seasons.

In the 2022/23 season, Kane has been his usual dependable self, netting 17 goals in 22 Premier League matches, maintaining his form even when the team’s form dipped.

Kane has also helped his team’s cause with eight big chances created, the most for Tottenham, but somehow still has only one assist. If only he was on the end of the chances he creates.
