Kenyan star Alfred Scriven's heroics earn Hodd a crucial 2-2 draw against Sogndal, fueling their fight against relegation in Norway's First Division.

Kenyan forward Alfred Scriven Richard displayed his exceptional scoring prowess as he played a pivotal role in leading his club, Hodd, to secure a crucial 2-2 draw against Sogndal in a thrilling Norwegian First Division encounter.

The game, which took place on a chilly Saturday at the 4,000-seater Nye Høddvoll Stadium, had fans on the edge of their seats as both teams battled for supremacy.

Hodd, currently fighting bravely to stave off relegation, found themselves in a precarious position, sitting in 15th place with 26 points, trailing 13th-placed Asane by a mere four points.

The match kicked off with Sogndal taking the lead in the 16th minute, thanks to a strike from Joakim Berg Nundal.

However, Hodd responded swiftly, with Kjetil Holand Tøsse leveling the score just seven minutes later, igniting hope among the home supporters.

Scriven, a dynamic presence on the pitch, had two attempts on target during the first half, but Sogndal's vigilant goalkeeper, Renze Fij, managed to thwart his efforts, denying Hodd the lead.

The second half began on a quieter note, with both teams struggling to create clear-cut chances.

Sogndal, though, struck in the 70th minute, keeping the pressure on Hodd. The hosts, however, refused to bow down, and in a remarkable turn of events, Scriven redeemed himself just two minutes later, finding the back of the net in the 72nd minute.

The remainder of the match witnessed an intense exchange of end-to-end attacks as both sides desperately sought a winning goal. However, despite their relentless efforts, neither team could break the deadlock, and the contest concluded in a hard-fought 2-2 draw.

With the crucial draw, Hodd now faces the daunting task of winning their remaining three matches of the season to ensure their survival in the division.

Their next encounter will be away to the 10th-placed Rauffos, a match that could very well determine their fate for the upcoming season.
