The team will start Preparation for the Africa U17 Cup of Nations later this year

Nigeria’s U-17 team, Golden Eaglets, will begin their preparations for this year’s Africa U-17 Cup of Nations on Monday as camp opens for invited players on Friday.

Head Coach Nduka Ugbade has called 48 players to camp in Abuja.

Coach Ugbade invites 48 Players

The coach has invited 48 players to camp, with most of the players that won the WAFU B U-17 Championship in Cape Coast, Ghana, last year.

The players will start to report to Abuja on Friday.

Golden Eaglets

The Africa U17 Cup of Nations will be held in Algeria between April 8-30th.

The semi-finalists will qualify to fly Africa’s flag at the FIFA U17 World Cup finals later in the year.

Golden Eaglet are Five time FIFA U-17 World Cup champion

Nigeria is a five-time champion of the FIFA U17 World Cup with her first win in China in 1985, grabbed the second victory in Japan in 1993.

In 2007 Golden Eaglets won her third FIFA U17 World Cup in the Korean Republic, and the fourth and fifth gold medals came in the United Arab Emirates in 2013 and Chile in 2015, respectively.
