A Polish legend believes the former Liverpool star is not better than anyone in Poland to manage Robert Lewandowski and his teammates.
Recently sacked Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard's chances of getting back to work has suffered a huge blow and setback.
Polish legend Zbigniew Boniek has slammed the possible appointment of the former Aston Villa boss as the new coach of Poland.

Gerrard has been penciled down as a possible replacement for Czeslaw Michniewicz, who left his role after a dismal performance at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
However, former Poland FA boss and Juventus star, Boniek, is against the choice of the former Liverpool to lead his country's national team.
Gerrard's talks with Poland
As reported by Pulse Sports Nigeria, the former England international has been in talks with the Poland FA to succeed their former coach.

Gerrard has been out of work since he was sacked and replaced by Unai Emery last year by Aston Villa.
He is said to be weighing up the offer but will now face a difficult convincing the Polish football governing body following comments from a former President.
Gerrard not better than anyone in Poland
Speaking on the possible appointment, Boniek noted that the 42-year-old is not fit to manage the Polish national team.

According to Boniek, Gerrard knows nothing about the country and would prefer to see a compatriot named instead.
"Any Polish coach who has been sacked or resigned recently would be better than Gerrard," he said per Daily Record. "He doesn't really know anything about the Polish national team.'

The former Poland FA boss added that the football association must act fast to name a new boss as the Euros isn't far offf.
"They have to come up with a new man quickly because the first games for the Euros are in March," he added,
After a very successful time at Scotland with Rangers, Gerrard struggled to repeat his title-winning feat with the Gers at Villa Park.
He endured a disappointing time in charge of Aston Villa, managing 13 wins, 8 draws, and 19 losses as Villa boss before he was sacked.
